Shopping mall tycoon Henry Sy and his family are the richest Filipinos, according to Forbes magazine's 2013 global billionaires' list. Sy has a net worth valued at $13.2 billion, Forbes said. He ranked 68th on the global billionaires' list.
Banking, airline, liquor, tobacco and real estate magnate Lucio Tan is the second-richest Filipino with a net worth of $5 billion.
The other Filipino billionaires who made the Forbes list are:
- Enrique Razon, Jr. ($4.9 billion)
- Andrew Tan ($3.95 billion)
- David Consunji and family ($2.8 billion)
- George Ty and family ($2.6 billion)
- Lucio and Susan Co ($2 billion)
- Robert Coyiuto, Jr. ($1.6 billion)
- Tony Tan Caktiong and family ($1.4 billion)
- Andrew Gotianun and family ($1.2 billion)
- Roberto Ongpin ($1.2 billion)
High-profile businessmen Manny V. Pangilinan and John L. Gokongwei, Jr. are not on the list.
Carlos Salim of Mexico, who is valued at around $73 billion, once again topped the billionaires' list.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates ($67 billion) placed second, followed by Spain's Amancio Ortega ($57 billion), Warren Buffett ($53.5 billion), Larry Ellison ($43 billion), Charles Koch ($34 billion), David Koch ($34 billion), Hong Kong's Li Ka-shing ($31 billion), Liliane Bettencourt and family ($30 billion), and Bernard Arnault and family ($29 billion).
