It’s been a long time since we looked at the rumor mill, and here we are again, hearing rumors of the non-Nexus X Phone from Motorola.
While the source isn’t as solid as the
others, it has been dubbed plausible and up to a certain point doable.
The rumors indicate that the phone will have a 5-inch edge-to-edge
display with almost zero bezel. This means it may look similar to
Motorola’s own Razr M, only bigger.
Google’s efforts in buying Motorola could finally be made use of as
the phone is expected to be announced at Google I/O. Last year, we had
the Nexus 7
announced, and while this phone isn’t necessarily a Nexus – it is
expected to pack the latest version of Android dubbed Key Lime Pie
(5.0).
Motorola had 2 previous non-Nexus devices to run the latest of
Android already, named Droid & Xoom. The company is also expected to
add some very own software features.
Android 5.0 seems to be too much of an upgrade to 4.2. The last time
we hit these numbers, we had hardware issues to attend to (3.0 for
tablets, 4.0 for unifying tablets & phones). Perhaps we’ll see
Android merge with Chrome OS; who knows? It’s not far from happening
since Motorola has a past with laptop docks after all.
