Hi! First of, please witheld my name for this post. I want to inform the
public how this particular store try to mislead us consumers on how
they display and compute their "sale" items.
One night I went to this store to look for a gift. I found this crate
full of playdough items at 30% off discount. However something is wrong
with their prices. Please see attached photos. Yellow Tag says,
Orig retail: 699.75
NOW: 550.00
Orig. retail: 369.75
NOW: 300.00
I find the tags wrong after I saw them, because clearly the 30% of
699.75 is definitely not P550. And 30% off 369.75 is not even P300. To
make my computation correct, i then checked my calculator. And yeah 30%
of 699.75 should be P489.82 then the correct 30% discount of 369.75
should be P258.82
I then showed one of the items to their supervisor in duty and told them
of the wrong computation. They too checked the prices and agreed that
it is indeed a mistake. I told them that it is considered to be
"misleading" to the actual prices. I even asked them why they don't
check the prices first before displaying them? They didn't even gave me
an answer. The supervisor on duty just asked one of the staff to pull
out the items from the crate.
I hope DTI will do something about this. But for the mean time, it is
best to check the price tags and compute the discount before paying.
