It's just now that i have the courage to tell this.
Last Wednesday, January 9, 2013, between 14:00 - 16:00hrs., we were
passing through NAIA's terminal 3 security (where they scan your hand
luggage before going to your gate) when they held us because of a few
canned foods, water and disinfecting alcohol handgel in our backpack.
One of the security told me that maybe i can still check-in my canned
goods at Cathay Pacific. So, we went back to Cathay Pacific but they
told us that we were only allowed 1 luggage per person. So, i told my
son, we will just give the goods to the cleaning ladies in the comfort
room. It's new year, it will be a nice gift for them.
When we went back to the security, they asked us where the goods were.
So, i told them that we gave it to the cleaning personnel. The other guy
got angry and started shouting at me, "walang hiya ka! bakit binigay mo
sa kanila! mga first class pa naman yun na de latas!" and he still went
on and on calling me names. I was shocked! I shouted back "wag mo akong
tawagin na walang hiya, ikaw ang walang hiya!"
Trembling from anger i pulled my son and walked away thinking he might
do something to us especially to my son that we can't get on our plane
anymore. While at the gate, i realized i still have our water and
alcohol gel. They were more interested at the canned goods than to the
water and gel that i had with me.
Is it what they call security in the Philippines? It's so disappointing
for me as a balikbayan. A friend of mine whom i called afterwards,
adviced me to avoid terminal 3 next time. He said there had been lots of
anomalies going on at this terminal. What should i do? Book an extra
flight just to avoid this airport?
